New resident airlines of Uzbekistan to start flights to South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, accompanied by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea, held negotiations with the Korean Aviation Administration in Seoul.

The last consultations between the aviation authorities of the two countries took place in 2018. As a result, the number of flights between the countries was set at 10 per week for airlines from each side, and the right to operate flights was granted to two airlines from each side.

During the negotiations, issues related to the development of cooperation between the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Korea were discussed, including the lifting of restrictions on the number of designated airlines, granting them the corresponding rights to operate flights, increasing the number of flights between the two countries, and expanding the geography of flights.

It was announced at the meeting that flights between the two countries will be operated by Uzbekistan Airways, as well as new resident airlines established in Uzbekistan, such as Qanot Sharq, My Freighter, and Air Samarkand.
