Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President signed Decree “On amending the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 5 February 1993 “On measures to encourage the student youth of Uzbekistan” in connection with the introduction of some state nominal scholarships for gifted students of higher educational institutions.

The document establishes nominal scholarships for students of the last two years in the direction of undergraduate studies, whose performance indicators are at the “excellent” level (maximum 25% at the “good” level) in all subjects and participating in creative work:

named after Babur - in the areas of history and geography;

named after Pakhlavon Mahmud - in the areas of physical culture and sports.

The Babur Scholarship is awarded to one senior student of each university that trains personnel in the relevant areas.
