New international terminal can render services to 400 passengers an hour, which grew three times compared to previous capacity. The terminal will help to increase tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
New building has arrival and departure halls, VIP and CIP halls, mother and children room, medical points, ticket offices, currency exchange points, postal department, Duty Free shop.
The airport can receive all types of aircrafts in line with international requirements. Currently, Bukhara International Airport serves regular and charter flights with tourists from Europe, America and Asia.
The cost of the project made up about US$14.7 million. Main part of construction works were conducted within three months. Over 1,500 people participated at construction works.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that Bukhara International Airport served 1,914 flights in nine months of 2011 and transported over 74,000 passengers, which is 19% more compared to the planned volume.
