President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received credentials from newly appointed envoys to Uzbekistan at presidential residence Oqsaroy on 20 September. Ambassador of Tajikistan Babahan Mahmadov, Ambassador of Italy Giovanni Ricculli and Ambassador of the United States Richard Norland handed over credentials to Uzbek president.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov congratulated foreign envoys with appointments and wished success in their missions in Uzbekistan. He noted that the relations between Uzbekistan and these countries are growing.

Babahan Mahmadov said that historic relations between two nations go to thousand years. He added Uzbekistan is main trade partner of Uzbekistan. He said main target of his mission is to strengthen cooperation between states.

Giovanni Ricculli, in his turn, said the relations are developing gradually. He said the sides have all opportunities to develop relations and Italy is interested to expand ties.

Richard Norland underlined he will do his best to boost relations between Uzbekistan and the United States. He said he will pay attention to trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, as well as strengthening international security and integration during his mission.
