New Digital Uzbekistan: How M360 Eurasia 2025 Summit Concluded in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The GSMA’s M360 Eurasia 2025 summit concluded successfully in Tashkent on May 22, marking its first-ever gathering in Central Asia. Supported by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies, Beeline Uzbekistan, and VEON Group, this landmark event brought together prominent leaders from the global mobile telecommunications and technology sectors, policymakers, investors, and industry specialists from across Eurasia. In total, over 1000 participants from 60 countries attended the event, highlighting Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing prominence as a regional technology hub and a digital bridge for Central Asia.

M360 Eurasia 2025 served as a strategic platform for discussions on accelerating digital transformation across the region, with a particular focus on bridging the digital divide, which is estimated to have the potential to unlock USD 415 billion in GDP by 2030 for the region. The agenda highlighted key areas shaping the future of digital development: the integration of augmented AI in mobile networks, widespread 5G deployment, the creation of resilient and scalable technology ecosystems, cross-industry digital solutions, and robust data governance frameworks. According to GSMA forecasts, 5G will account for more than 40% of all mobile connections across Eurasia by 2030, emphasizing the critical importance of these themes. Data centers and the GSMA Open Gateway initiative — designed to build a standardised, global API framework for operators and developers — were among the key topics explored.

"Hosting the first M360 Eurasia 2025 forum in Tashkent is an honor for Uzbekistan and a recognition of our ambitious digital agenda. The success of this global event confirmed that we are on the right track in implementing the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 strategy, which reflects the visionary approach of the President of Uzbekistan in transforming the country into a regional IT hub. By successfully hosting this forum, Uzbekistan has confirmed its readiness to be an engine of innovation and a platform for cooperation that will catalyze digital growth for all of Central Asia," affirmed Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“The successful hosting of M360 Eurasia 2025 in Tashkent demonstrates how joint efforts between government, business, and the international community can create powerful momentum for innovation and sustainable development. Uzbekistan has clearly shown its readiness to unlock the full potential of the digital sector, and Tashkent will undoubtedly remain a key point on the global digital map,” said Vivek Badrinath, Director General of the GSMA.

"M360 Eurasia 2025 in Tashkent vividly demonstrated that Eurasia is a region of immense opportunities for digital transformation. For VEON, this was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of investing in advanced technologies and creating digital ecosystems that offer users connected digital services that are relevant for all 1,440 minutes of the day. We are pleased to be partners in such an event and continue to contribute to the digital transformation of the region," noted Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group.

“We are proud to have brought together such an influential international audience here in Tashkent. This forum once again demonstrated that Uzbekistan is making rapid strides in digital transformation. We are confident that the ideas and connections born here will serve as a foundation for new opportunities, investments, and innovations — further strengthening our country’s position as a leader in the digital future,” said Andrey Pyatakhin, CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan.

The forum also hosted the signing of multiple agreements aimed at advancing digital infrastructure, strengthening cross-border partnerships, and accelerating technological progress throughout the region.

GSMA’s M360 Eurasia 2025 in Tashkent marked a significant milestone in fostering digital collaboration across the Eurasian region. Uzbekistan has once again demonstrated its capacity to serve as a dynamic platform for international technological dialogue, opening new horizons for cooperation and growth.
