Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The new Consul General of Uzbekistan in Dubai Kamol Ikramov met with the Director of the Dubai Office of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum.

At the meeting, they discussed the prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE, and also expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, high technology, innovation, industrial cooperation, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, science and culture.

The importance of the agreement on mutual visa exemption for citizens of both countries was emphasized.

Prior to his appointment to Dubai in 2018–2023, Kamol Ikramov served as Consul General of Uzbekistan in New York. He replaced Alisher Salomov, who headed the Consulate General in Dubai in 2019–2024.

The consular district of the Consulate General includes the emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman, Um al-Quwain, Fujairah.
