Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An extraordinary reporting and election conference of the Rowing & Canoe Federation of Uzbekistan was held on the ZOOM platform today. The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, representatives of the Executive Committee of the Rowing & Canoe Federation and coaches. In accordance with the agenda, the following issues were considered: a statement on the resignation of the current head of the federation, Akhmedov Khudoyor Mamazhonovich, the election of a new chairman and consideration of the composition of the Executive Committee.

At the beginning of the conference, the statement of Khudoyor Ahmedov on dismissal from his post of his own free will was discussed, his resignation was accepted. In turn, Khudoyor Ahmedov noted that recently, due to his health condition, he could not devote enough time to the federation and thanked for the joint work that was carried out under his leadership for 2 years. The candidacy of the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov was proposed for the post of chairman. The participants unanimously supported A. Sultanov’s candidacy, and as a result, he was elected the new head of the Rowing & Canoe Federation of Uzbekistan.

“At one time, Alisher Sultanov and I worked very fruitfully. He led the Uzbek delegation during the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017. Our country has achieved high results in these competitions. I believe that Alisher Saidabassovich is a worthy candidate for the post of head of the federation,” said the Secretary General of the NOC Oybek Kasymov.

Shukhrat Kurbanov, in turn, became deputy chairman of the federation. During the event, NOC President Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov expressed his opinion.

“Dear participants, first of all, let me congratulate you on the 29th anniversary of the independence of our country. At such a time, I wish you only health. As our esteemed President noted, this virus is very cunning and dangerous. The main thing is to take care of yourself. We are pleased with the work of Khudoyor Ahmedov. For the development of this sport, we worked together with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports. We thank Khudoyor Akhmedov for his work. The main thing is that he does not move away from us. Khudoyor Ahmedov is one of those responsible for the construction of the canal in Samarkand. Representatives of the Rowing & Canoe Federation, a good leader has been elected today. We will work together with a specialist with vast experience,” said Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov.

After that, issues such as the formation of officials of the Executive Committee and the Federation Presidium were considered.

He chaired the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan from January 2017 to January2018. Until the end of 2018, he was the vice president of the organization. In the course of his activities, he made a worthy contribution to the development of Uzbek football, in particular, women’s. He was the head of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan. For many years he worked in the management structure of Uzbekneftegaz. He is holder of the Mehnat Shukhrati order.
