Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s net foreign exchange reserves as of 1 January 2018 totaled US$26.39 billion, the Central Bank of the country said.
The volume of monetary gold reached US$14.64 billion as of 1 January 2019 against US$14.96 billion as of 1 December 2018.
At the same time, the volume of assets in foreign currency increased from US$11.01 billion as of 1 December 2018 to US$12.44 billion as of 1 January 2019.
The regulator noted that the decrease in gold reserves in January-December 2018 is partly due to decline in the price of gold from US$1,296.50 to US$1,281 per ounce. The estimated effect on the decline was US$160.7 million.
