The State Demonopolisation Committee has received a request from the Uzbek-Swiss NefteGazMontaj LLC (Oil and Gas Assembly) Joint Venture for the acquisition of 100% stake in Avek-Motors Open Joint-Stock Company.

The decision of the Committee’s special commission has not yet been announced.

One of the main methods of the anti-monopoly regulation in the Republic of Uzbekistan is the regulation of the issues relating to mergers and acquisitions of the shares (interest, etc) of companies.

This regulation aims to examine the affect of such deals on market concentration (strengthening of market power of individual companies). It is regulated by the Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On competition and restriction of monopolistic activity in commodity markets."
