Nearly Half of 2025 University Applicants Failed to Meet Minimum Score
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Almost half of the applicants taking university entrance exams in 2025 were unable to score above 56.7 points out of a maximum of 189 points.
This year, 614,768 candidates took the test. Among them, 253,844 people (41.3%) did not pass the minimum threshold, which corresponds to roughly 30% of the maximum score. The lowest results were recorded in Andijan region — 47.6% failed, while Bukhara region and Tashkent showed better results at 31.4%.
In 2023, more than half of applicants failed to meet the minimum threshold in eight regions, and in 2024 — in four regions. In 2025, there are no regions with more than half of applicants below the minimum score.
The largest improvements were seen in Karakalpakstan (+9%), Navoi region (+8.9%), Syrdarya region (+8.1%), Bukhara region (+7.8%), and Kashkadarya region (+6%).
