Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, taxi aggregators in Uzbekistan paid 156.8 billion soums in taxes, of which 66.2 billion soums were from Value Added Tax (VAT). This information was provided by the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

By the end of 2024, 155 taxi aggregators were successfully integrated with the tax authorities’ information systems. Compared to the beginning of the year, when only 6 aggregators were integrated, this figure saw a significant increase — by August 2024, there were already 142.

The total number of rides amounted to 320 million, with the turnover from taxi services approaching 5.9 trillion soums. Of this, about 4.5 trillion soums (76.3%) were paid in cash, while 1.4 trillion soums (23.7%) were paid electronically.

The average ticket price was 18,456 soums, slightly higher than in August, when it was 18,000 soums.

Approximately 498,000 self-employed drivers are involved in passenger transportation through taxi aggregators.

The majority of drivers (57%) are aged between 30 and 50 years, totaling 283,680 people. Drivers under 30 years old number 179,245 (36%), and those over 50 years old amount to 35,004 (7%).

Notably, the number of female drivers has increased almost fourfold: from 1,053 at the beginning of 2024 to 4,124 women by the end of the year.

Regarding earnings, about 4,700 drivers earned over 100 million soums annually from transportation, 23,100 drivers earned between 50 and 100 million soums, 114,600 drivers earned between 10 and 50 million soums, 63,500 drivers earned between 5 and 10 million soums, 136,400 drivers earned between 1 and 5 million soums, and 155,500 drivers earned less than 1 million soums.

The most popular cars among taxi drivers are the Nexia (17.8%), Cobalt (16.9%), and Lacetti (13.9%). Electric vehicles make up 1.2% of the total number of cars used in taxi services.

The age of the cars used for passenger transport is mostly old. Vehicles older than 10 years account for 56.9%, those between 5 and 10 years old make up 23.6%, those between 3 and 5 years old are 9%, and cars between 1 and 3 years old account for 10.4%.
