NBU joins Zolotaya Korona money transfer system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity (NBU), a largest commercial bank of Uzbekistan, jointed the money transfer system Zolotaya Korona on 25 July 2013.

The money transfer system said that now its services are available at 71 settlements of Uzbekistan, including in Gazalkent and Malikrabat

NBU is a largest commercial bank of Uzbekistan, which services over 50% of all foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan. It claimed the 55th place in the 100 largest commercial banks of the CIS on the size of the assets, according to RIA Rating agency.

Lyudmila Bodyagina, director of department of money circulation, said that the NBU provides wide-range of banking services. Currently, the bank provides over 70 types of retail services, including money transfer services, she added.

Bodyagina expressed her assurance that cooperation with Zolotaya Korona wil help to implement strategy of the bank to strengthen its position in retail banking services market.

Ivan Sitnov, director of Zolotaya Korona – Money Transfers, said that Uzbekistan is an important market for trans-boundary money transfers in the CIS. He said Zolotaya Korona has strong position in Uzbekistan and has over 1,000 service points in 200 settlements. He added that cooperation with the leader of the Uzbek banking system will give powerful effect.

The system said that the NBU clients can send remittances in the US dollars and euros. The remittances can be sent to the CIS states and Georgia.
