Navqiron Uzbekistan: arena for young artists
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fund Forum has announced the fourth Republican Festival of Traditional and Contemporary Art “Navqiron Uzbekistan-2010” (Young Uzbekistan). Applications may be submitted from 1 June to 1 August at Youth Creativity Palace in Tashkent.

Navqiron Uzbekistan Festival, which was first held in 2004, gives young aspiring artists an opportunity to realize their potential in all areas of contemporary and traditional art. The Festival is organized twice a year and allows the broad public to get acquainted with young masters’ potential.

In 2006, as many as 200 artists and masters of applied art participated in the Festival and presented roughly 800 works in all categories art while the exhibition of the Festival was attended by over 2,500 people in two weeks. In 2008, over 200 artists and masters aged 18-35 from all parts of Uzbekistan participated. The Festival of 2008 included master classes by prominent art professionals, enabling the participants to swap experience, gain practical skills, and talk to art specialists.

This year, upon the completion of selection rounds, the exhibition will showcase works in art categories such as painting, graphics, sculpture, design, photo art, video art, installations, stamping, woodcarving, textile, etc. Festival participants will present works in which they will attempt to reflect new outlooks on long-known types of art.

Upon completion of the Festival, the jury will select winners in a variety of categories. The jury is composed of famous culture and art professionals. The winners will be awarded diplomas, cups and prizes. In addition, laureates in the category painting will present their works at an exhibition in Beijing scheduled for late August – early September this year.
