Navoi Airport to serve over 40 flights a week from October
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Navoi Airport will serve to over 40 passenger and cargo flights a week from October 2009, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) said on its official websites.

The Uzbek national airline said currently the airport serves over 30 flights a week. The airline said it is planned to launch new freight flights from Navoi.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said Navoi Airport will receive more flights after new cargo terminal will be launched.

Korean Air started to carry out regular flights to Navoi Airport on 27 August. In line with the agreement between Korean Air and Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (signed in December 2008), Navoi Airport was handed over to the Korean side for management. Korean Air also is running flight Milan-Navoi-Inchehon.

Uzbekistan Havo Yollari started commercial exploitation of two Airbus 300-600 freight aircrafts, which were received on leasing from Korean Air. The airlines signed an agreement on joint use of the airplanes and maximal commercial load of each planes set at 46.54 tonnes.

Airbus 300-600 freight aircrafts currently are flying from Navoi to Bangkok, Delhi and Bombay.
