Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The net profit of the National Bank of Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan (NBU) for the second quarter of 2024 was 944.9 billion soums, marking a 20.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
The bank’s assets grew by 11.5% year-on-year, reaching 130.1 trillion soums by the end of Q2 2024. The bank’s capital increased by 5.6%, totaling 18.6 trillion soums.
Total revenues for the bank rose by 14.8%, amounting to 11.5 trillion soums during the reporting period. Interest income grew by 18.4%, reaching 7.3 trillion soums, while non-interest income increased by 9.1%, reaching 4.2 trillion soums.
According to the Central Bank data, NBU’s loan portfolio as of 1 July 2024, was 101.6 trillion soums, up 13.0% from the same period in 2023. The proportion of non-performing loans (NPL) slightly increased from 2.8% to 2.9%.
