Nasaf aim to play final at home
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- AFC Cup quarterfinalists Nasaf of Uzbekistan have received a boost from the prospect of hosting the final match at home.

Nasaf ran up a perfect group stage record in this edition by winning all their seven matches and have been drawn against Thailand’s Chonburi FC in the quarterfinals on September 13 (away) and 27 (home).

The winners will meet either Al Wehdat (Jordan) or Duhok (Iraq) in the semifinals before hosting the final match on home ground.

Head coach Anatoly Demyanenko said: "It would be nice to play the final in front of our fans, especially because our Kashkadarya region deserves it.”

The Ukrainian tactician admitted that he was clueless about their Thai rivals at the moment.

"We don’t have any information about Chonburi but we will do everything possible to find out more about this team,” said Demyanenko. “It is difficult to judge the strength of the opponent but there are no weak teams in the last eight stage.”

Demyanenko, a former defender for the USSR, Dynamo Kiev and Dnipro, said: “The team’s schedule will get very hectic from July 30. We will prepare for the AFC Cup through Uzbekistan League matches."

Nasaf are second in the Uzbekistan League with 24 points from 10 matches, a point adrift of leaders Bunyodkor who have a game in hand.
