Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from the Republic of Korea headed by Deputy Minister of State Administration and Security Mr. Yoon Jeong Ying was in Uzbekistan on 18-19 March with an official visit.

Representatives of the delegation took part in meetings at the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting at the Agency, guests praised the level of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Korea and emphasized that the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the countries strengthens mutually beneficial cooperation, noted the scale and quality of reforms already implemented in Uzbekistan as part of e-government development, providing 195 types services using information and communication technologies. The meeting participants exchanged views on the state of Uzbek-Korean relations in the field of e-government development, the practical implementation of new joint projects and programs in this area.

Following the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Project Management Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea, which includes the exchange of best practices, joint research, corporate cooperation and technical assistance in establishing a data center in Uzbekistan.

At a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed the experience gained in Uzbekistan and South Korea in the field of pensions and public procurement, and considered the possibility of implementing the best solutions into existing institutional mechanisms.

In the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, experts from the Korean delegation shared their experience in implementing tax policies aimed at increasing exports and developing small and medium-sized businesses.

In addition, on March 19, within the framework of the visit of the delegation from the Republic of Korea to the International Hotel Tashkent, an Uzbek-Korean forum was held. E-Government: Development Prospects, organized by NAPU together with the E-Government Project Center and the digital economy and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea.

The forum was attended by representatives of the Korean delegation, more than 100 representatives of the Agency, relevant ministries, state committees, educational institutions, the Innovation Center for support of the development and implementation of information technologies Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center MUIC.

The event also held a breakout session.
