Namangan region’s GRP increases by 13.9% in 1Q 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of the gross regional product (GRP) of Namangan region made up 13.9% in the first quarter of 2011, the session of Deputies’ Council of the region said.

The region posted 21.9% growth of industrial output, 5.5% - agricultural production, 26.2% - construction works and 15.9% - paid services.

Namangan region used 100.5 billion soums of capital investments in the reporting period to develop industries of real sector of economy. The growth rate made up 10.6%.

In the reporting period, the region constructed several social-economic objects. In particular, the region commissioned 26 large and small production objects and capacities designed for production of goods for 20.1 billion soums.

In the result of improvement of habitation-communal economy, implementation of measures on decreasing accounts receivable, the services for 66.6 billion soums were rendered to population. The communal payments for 44 billion soums were made in the first three months of 2011.

The Deputies also considered implementation of the state programme “The Year of Small Business and Private Entrepreneurs”. In the reporting period, some 35 billion soums were used due to all sources of financing. About 25 enterprises were commissioned. The small business and private entrepreneurs created 6,646 new jobs and their sector in the first quarter of 2011 reached 64.6%.

UzA reported that over 16,600 new jobs were created in Namangan region in line with the Employment Programme.
