Uzbekistan02/05/2008Namangan region’s GRP grows by 7% in Jan-Mar
During the meeting, led by the region’s hokim I.Najmiddinov, it was noted that in the reporting period gross regional product grew by 7%, in which the share of private sector amounted to 66.3%.
The volume of industrial production rose by 7.8%, retail trade by 10%, services by 14.2%, exports by 5.7% and attraction of investments in production by 10.5%.
The number of existing small businesses and private enterprises reached 25,291. About UZS 9.6 billion were allocated for enhancement of their performance.
Particular attention in the region is being paid to increasing the employment level. 12,278 new jobs were created in the first three months of the year, particularly in the services (4,337) and out-work (2,948) sectors.
