Namangan region posts 10.7% GRP growth in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of the gross regional product (GRP) of Namangan region of Uzbekistan made up 10.7% in January-June 2012.

Industrial production grew by 11.5%, used capital investments – 4.7%, construction works – 11.5%, retail trade turnover – 18.5% and paid services – 16.2%.

Share of small businesses in the gross regional product made up 71.7% in the reporting period.

The region directed 152.9 billion soums to implement measures of the state programme “The Year of Family”.

Within the programmes on modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of industrial enterprises, localization of production, Namangan region used 395 billion soums.

In the first half of 2012, the region commissioned 78 objects compared to planned 29 production capacities. Within these projects, the region used US$4.2 million and modernized 19 industrial enterprises.

Within the localization programme, the region produced 62.2 billion soums in January-June 2012, which is 9.7 billion soums more compared to the same period of 2011.

In six months of 2012, the region created 36,600 new jobs. Share of small and private businesses created 41.5% of jobs.
