Musical art of Uzbekistan presented in Israel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A piano festival “From Baroque to Jazz” was held at the Conservatory of Ness Ziona, during which days of music from France, Spain and Uzbekistan were held, Dunyo news agency reported.

One day of the festival was entirely devoted to the music of creative workers of Uzbekistan. The concert featured works by such prominent Uzbek composers as H. Izamov, G. Mushel, H. Khasanova, O. Abdullaev, H. Rakhimov, V. Saparov and others, performed by young Israeli musicians.

Participants in the evening were prominent figures in the musical culture of Israel, including composers.

The art director of the festival, Alexander Kalantarov, in his speech emphasized the decision to devote one day of this festival to the music of composers of Uzbekistan, because there was confidence that this could be a real discovery for the musical community of the two countries.

“There are many graduates from the Tashkent Conservatory among teachers and musicians of Israel, however, Uzbek music has never sounded on the stages of the conservatory and has not been included in the repertoire of performers and students, despite the fact that it deserves to be along with the best music samples of modern Israeli composers,” noted A. Kalantarov.

He also expressed gratitude to the Uzbek people for their invaluable fraternal assistance to the Jews in the most difficult times of World War II, when tens of thousands of Jews found bread, a warm attitude and love.

The representative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel spoke about the state policy of Uzbekistan in the field of expanding dialogue and cooperation with compatriots living abroad, special attention to the leadership of the development of culture and art in the republic.

The participants of the event were provided with information on the approval in 2017 by the President of Uzbekistan of the Program of measures to further develop and improve the sphere of culture and art in 2017-2021, which also affected the development of international and cultural relations of Uzbekistan with various countries.
