Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Ferghana region led by khokim Khayrullo Bozorov visited the province of Shaanxi as part of a visit to the People’s Republic of China.

During negotiations with provincial officials led by Governor Zhao Gang, prospects for developing cooperation between the two regions were discussed.

The parties noted that thanks to the high political will and initiatives of the heads of state of Uzbekistan and China, economic ties are strengthening, and mutual trade turnover between Ferghana region and China is actively growing. There is also an increase in Chinese investment in the economy of Ferghana region.

Shaanxi Province, one of the leading regions in China, specializes in the automotive industry, oil and gas industry, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, agriculture, food processing, tourism and higher education.

At the meeting, specific measures of cooperation were developed in the trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, tourism and sports fields.

An agreement was also reached on the development of cooperation in the field of higher education, training and scientific research between the province of Shaanxi, in which there are 110 universities and more than 1,800 research centers, and Ferghana region.

The parties also agreed to regularly organize joint events for the youth of the two regions.

Khayrullo Bozorov invited the Governor of Shaanxi Province, Zhao Gang, to visit Ferghana region.
