MTZ intends to create an assembly plant for tractors in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) plans to create an assembly plant for agricultural tractors in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Industry of Belarus said in a statement.

As part of the events and business visits of the second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, the Minister of Industry of Belarus Alexander Rogozhnik and the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov visited the production sites of partner companies and discussed issues of cooperation.

The leaders of the Minsk Motor Plant and the Minsk Automobile Plant took part in the visit.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Belarus visited PLANETA SERVIS LLC and Krantas Group LLC.

PLANETA SERVIS and the Minsk Motor Plant are implementing a project to organize assembly production of diesel generator sets and compressor stations in Uzbekistan.

According to the agreements, in 2024 the practical implementation of the project of OJSC MTZ with the Uzbek company PLANETA SERVIS in the field of tractor construction will begin. MTZ has already signed licensing agreements to organize the assembly production of Belarus equipment. Work is also underway to localize production.

This project is emphasized by the high demand for Belarusian tractors from Uzbek farmers. In 2023 alone, MTZ increased the export of tractors to Uzbekistan by 1.6 times compared to 2022.

Krantas Group and the Minsk Automobile Plant are considering a project for the production of special equipment in Uzbekistan.

During the period of cooperation, more than 200 units of special equipment (tank trucks, in particular fuel and water tankers, garbage trucks, crane equipment) were jointly produced and sold to Uzbek consumers and work in this direction will continue.

In 2023, MAZ OJSC resumed cooperation with its subsidiary Krantas Group. The Uzbek company, within the framework of cooperation, supplies truck crane booms to Belarus to the Mogilevtransmash plant for the subsequent production of load-lifting cranes. Work is underway to conclude new contracts for 2024.
