The goal of M&TVA-2009 award is to select and encourage the most outstanding representatives of various fields that have made significant contributions to the development of Uzbekistan’s culture and arts in 2009.

The programme of the award presentation ceremony will include music performances by prominent local musicians and participation by figures from the capital’s beau monde: popular TV and radio journalists, famous film and theatre actors, film directors, and pop stars.

In previous years, the following pop singers have become laureates of M&TVA Award: Raikhon, Sardor Rakhimkhon, Ulugbek Rakhmatullayev, Zulaikho Boykhonova, Takhir Sadykov; actors: Farrukh Soipov, Nozim Tulahojayev, Ulugbek Kadyrov, Rano Shodiyeva, Lola Eltoyeva, Dilnoza Kubayeva; film directors: Murad Rajabov, Ayub Shakhobiddinov, Rustam Sagdiyev, and many others.

M&TVA-2009 Award will be presented in the following nominations:

• The best film of the year
• The best film director of the year
• The best actor of the year
• The best actress of the year
• The best soundtrack of the year
• The best male singer of the year
• The best female singer of the year
• The best song of the year
• The best video clip of the year
• The best composer of the year
• The best radio host of the year
• The best tv project of the year
• The best tv presenter of the year
• The best tv project design of the year
• The best show of the year
• Letter of honour for contributions to culture and art development

Nominees and winners will be selected by the Guild Jury composed of distinguished figures in cinematography, television, radio broadcasting, journalists, popular theatre and film actors, artists, and representatives of show business.

Part of the selection process is SMS-voting by television audience and online voting on www.mtva.uz website. The ratings (votes) provided by the jury members and the results of SMS and online voting will determine the winner in each nomination.

The most active participants of the voting process will be invited to attend the actual award ceremony to be held on December 22 at Tashkent’s Alisher Navoi Theatre.

M&TVA-2009 Award Ceremony will be aired on New Year’s Day on Markaz TV Channel.
