MTS Uzbekistan serves 6.79m subscribers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Subscriber base of MTS Uzbekistan grew by 1.8% in September 2009 compared to August 2009, Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) said in a statement on Wednesday, 21 October 2009.

The company said its Uzbek subsidiary attracted 120,000 new subscribers in September. The subscribers’ base of MTS Uzbekistan reached 6.79 million as of 30 September 2009.

For last 12 months, the subscribers’ base of the company grew by 1.73 million or 34.2% year-on-year from 5.06 million.

MTS Uzbekistan is former Uzdunrobita and it is largest mobile operator of Uzbekistan on terms of subscribers’ number.
