Technologies 02/10/2007 MTS-Uzbekistan presents 3G, WiMAX networks
MTS-Uzbekistan, former Uzdunrobita and the largest mobile operator, presented new services based on 3G and WiMAX at the ICTExpo-2007 exhibitions.

MTS-Uzbekistan is one of two companies, which have licence for 3G network in Uzbekistan and one of few companies, which possesses WiMAX licence.

During the three-day exhibition (25-27 September), the company presented its services and paid special attention to 3G (on UMTS base) and WiMAX (on 802.16е standard), MTS-Uzbekistan said in press release.

Deputy Prime Minister and Director-General of Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information Abdulla Aripov made first video call to MTS President Mr Leonid Melamed to Moscow.

The company said MTS-Uzbekistan plans to deploy 3G and WiMAX networks in 2008 after it holds tender and tests new networks.
