MTO gas chemical complex and Uztekstilprom Association signed a cooperation agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan is aimed at creating a large number of new textile industries and factories that will produce value-added goods - fabrics, clothing, carpet products, etc.

An important issue for the industry is the issue of providing it with the necessary and high-quality raw materials, designed not only to expand the range of products, but to find a replacement for traditional cotton for the republic. Uztekstilprom is engaged in the solution of this problem.

The MTO gas chemical complex (MTO GCC) will be launched in 2025. It will become the largest producer of polymer products in Uzbekistan, in particular, textile grades - polyethylene terephthalate and polypropylene.

By joining the association, MTO GCC offers a comprehensive program to expand the capabilities of textile enterprises in Uzbekistan through the use of polymer fibers as raw materials. 220,000 tons of polyethylene terephthalate (textile grade), 150,000 tons of polypropylene will be supplied to the domestic market of Uzbekistan.

Sadik Bobokulov, Head of the Department for the Integrated Development of the Textile Industry in the Regions, Uztekstilprom:

“Uzbek companies are forced to import polymeric materials from abroad. The appearance of a manufacturer in Uzbekistan will change the situation, give the industry a new impetus. New production facilities will allow the country to change the export component - instead of raw materials, the country will supply finished products that are in demand not only in Central Asia, but throughout the world.”

Azizjon Yarkulov, Financial Director of MTO GCC:

“The MTO gas chemical complex will become the basis for the development of new textile industries, small and medium-sized enterprises, and will allow localization of production within the country. The raw materials of our enterprise will be used to create final products - consumer and industrial goods."

At the signing ceremony, the parties agreed on broad cooperation, the development of bilateral contacts, as well as joint projects designed to promote the development of the textile industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
