Participants of the event underlined that public and political activity of women in Uzbekistan grew during independence years. Constitution of Uzbekistan, over 80 laws and by-laws create legal base for protection of rights, freedoms and interest of women.
Uzbekistan pays great attention to participation of in state and public construction. Legislation on elections, which allocates at least 30% quota for women as candidates to MPs, nominated by parties, gives additional opportunity for women to participate in political processes.
During the training, which was held in interactive form, the special attention was paid to rights and role of women in such issues as access to public service, participation in elections to various bodies, as well as activity at NGOs.
Participants expressed concrete proposals and recommendation on raising civil activity of women and their participation in governance of state and public affairs.
