Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 July 2011, Committee of Legislative Chamber on ecology and environment protection issues held a session in Ferghana city dedicated to studying execution of the law “On environment protection” in Ferghana region, eastern Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Ferghana regional administration, State Committee on nature protection, Ministry of Healthcare, regional state bodies and enterprises, as well as others participated at the session.

It was that that the region carried out some work to ensure implementation of the law, decreasing emissions to environment, and waste placement in line with set norms and standards. Over 10,350 companies were registered in the region, which impact to environment, of which 1,200 are industrial enterprises. These enterprises’ emission reaches 145,000 tonnes of harmful gases a year.

Ferghana regional administration developed a joint action plan on protection of environment and rational use of natural resources for 2011, which is directed at protecting health of population and environment.
