MPs discuss execution of law “On bankruptcy” in Samarkand and Tashkent regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on budget and economic reforms held a session to discuss implementation of the law of Uzbekistan “On bankruptcy” in Samarkand and Tashkent regions on 18 May 2012.

MPs, representatives of ministries and departments, state bodies in places and others participated at the event.

The session participants underlined that the main aim of the law “On bankruptcy” is ensuring execution of debt liabilities and rehabilitate solvency of legal entities and creditors. Use of bankruptcy procedures against insolvent enterprises is one of main conditions for development of economy and its sustainability.

Analysis of the law implementation showed that some 230 enterprises were announced bankrupt in 2010, 151 in 2011 and 54 in the first quarter of 2012 in Samarkand and 188 in 2010, 170 in 2011 and 63 in the first quarter of 2012 in Tashkent region.

It was said that the State Committee of Demonopolization and Development of Competition and its regional departments, and others conduct work on execution of law “On bankruptcy”. However, there are some shortages, which should be eliminated.

At the end of the session, the committee adopted recommendations directed at eliminating of these shortages and improving work in this area.
