Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan at a meeting in the second reading considered a bill aimed at recognizing rights to unauthorizedly seized land plots and buildings and structures built on them.

This bill defines the procedure for recognizing the right to a land plot and a building built on it, as well as the right to lease an illegally occupied land plot on which a private house is located.

It also provides the legal basis for the recognition of the lease right to overoccupied land, to a plot occupied by residential buildings on the territory of horticultural and viticultural enterprises.

In addition, if the rights to an illegally occupied land plot and to the buildings and structures built on it are recognized, persons who occupied the plot without permission are exempt from liability provided for in the Code of Administrative Liability.

According to deputies, the adoption of this bill helps to create a legal basis for registering the lease rights of citizens and business entities to illegally seized land plots and ownership rights to housing built on them, other buildings and structures or real estate.

The draft law was considered by deputies on individual articles and adopted at the third reading.
