Moscow hosts exhibition “Samarkand. Bukhara. Khiva. Cities and People”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition of Russian painter Klavdiya Sarafanova-Legat titled “Samarkand. Bukhara. Khiva. Cities and People” has been launched at the Moscow-based Central Painters House, prestigious exhibition halls of Russia, on 28 September.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence. It is organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, Fund Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan, Art-Alyans Gallery and Executive Committee of International Confederation of Painters Unions of Russia.

Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia said that representatives of political, public and business circles of Russia participated at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Opening the exhibition, chairperson of Executive Committee of International Confederation of Painters Unions of Russia Mr. Fatkulin said that Klavdiya Sarafanova-Legat loved Uzbekistan after her visit to the country. He added that the painter visited Uzbekistan to receive inspiration.

He said that the exhibition attracted large interest and it will serve for further strengthening of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.

Director of Art-Alyans Gallery Irina Keondjyan said that ancient culture of Uzbekistan is subject of admiration and the exhibition will allow Russians to familiarize with Uzbekistan.

Irina Keondjyan handed over a work of work of Klavdiya Sarafanova-Legat titled “Khive. Bright night” to the Uzbek side as a gift.
