Monopolization level index fell in 1H 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan calculated the monopolization level in the country for the first half of 2012 in line with the system on annual indicators of assessment of liberalization and modernization of economy.

The monopolization level is calculated based on number of existing enterprises and monopoly enterprises included to the State registrar of enterprises, which hold dominating position in the market, and the State registrar of natural monopoly enterprises.

Monopolization level is calculated as ratio of total number of monopoly enterprises to total number of registered enterprises. The figure made up 0.34 in the first half of 2012 compared to 0.36 in the same period of 2011.

The committee said that the figure shows that the level of monopolization in Uzbekistan is decreasing.

The Uzbek body said that the monopolization level significantly decreased in Andijan region (0.41 to 0.27), Namangan region (from 0.37 to 0.15) and Samarkand region (0.42 to 0.27).
