Monitoring of business activity of the regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) monthly analyzes the business activity of the regions, which is calculated on the basis of operational data from the State Customs Committee, the State Tax Committee, the Central Bank and UZEX. The leading regions were named in terms of revenues from tax and customs payments, loans issued, the total number of business entities, as well as new, opened enterprises.

According to the results of CERR monitoring, the volume of tax revenues of the republic in July increased by 5.9% compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Jizzakh (41.0%), Tashkent (26.8%), Syrdarya (23.9%), Navoi (20.5%), Namangan (16.9%) regions, in Tashkent (18.3%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (12.3%).

In terms of tax revenue sources, income tax increased by 25%, property tax - by 31% and land tax - by 19%.

The smallest tax revenue was noted in Khorezm (7.8%), Bukhara (9.2%), Kashkadarya (10.2%) and Andijan (10.4%) regions.

Revenues from customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 19.7%. The largest increase in customs revenues was observed in Jizzakh (72.3%), Samarkand (31.6%), Surkhandarya (26.9%), Tashkent (24.3%), Andijan (23.7%) regions and in the city of Tashkent. Tashkent (29.1%).

The increase in customs revenues was mainly due to an increase in imports of almost 28.8% compared to the same period of last year for types of products, including transport equipment and its components, technical equipment, metals and metal products, electrical equipment and components, and food products.

Since the beginning of the current year, the volume of exports of goods has decreased by 11.8%.

The decrease in exports is associated with a decrease in exports of yarn, mineral fertilizers and knitwear, metals and products from them, food products, and to a lesser extent - oil products, natural gas, which is explained by an increase in domestic consumption.

The largest growth in exports was observed in Khorezm (29.9%), Syrdarya (28.5%), Kashkadarya (16.3%) and Surkhandarya (13.9%) regions.

The increase in Uzbekistan’s exports is explained by the growing growth in exports of food products, industrial and agri-food products, and chemicals.

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks has increased by 16.5% since the beginning of the year.

A significant increase in the issuance of loans was noted in Syrdarya (37.7%), Jizzakh (20.6%), Kashkadarya (20.4%), Khorezm (16.7%) and Navoi (16.6%) regions, and in Tashkent (29.6%).

The volume of transactions at the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange for the analyzed period decreased by 1.7%.

A significant increase in exchange activity is observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (15.1%), Syrdarya (12.3%), Andijan (11.2%), Kashkadarya (9.8%) and Namangan (9.2%) regions.

Growth in the volume of transactions in these regions was ensured by an increase in the sale of such goods as cotton fiber, wheat, wheat flour, mineral fertilizers, diesel fuel, industrial seeds, liquefied gas, motor gasoline, construction and household materials, sugar, rolled ferrous and non-ferrous metals , polyethylene, etc.

During the analyzed period, 52,744 new economic entities were created, the largest number of which was registered in Tashkent (10,021), Fergana (4,910), Samarkand (4,899), Tashkent (4,203), Kashkadarya (3,964), Khorezm (3,680 ) areas.
