Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Mongolia plans to open its embassy in Uzbekistan.

The project to open an embassy in Tashkent was presented to the Chairman of the Parliament Zandanshatar Gombozhav.

The embassy will have three employees. The costs of maintaining the embassy are already included in Mongolia’s budget for 2024.

The Mongolian Foreign Ministry notes that Uzbekistan is one of the largest markets in the Central Asian region. Uzbekistan is also a leader in the development of agriculture and light industry.

Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Mongolia in 2022 amounted to US$10.4 million.

It is noted that Mongolia intends to sign a memorandum with Uzbekistan on creating a legal basis for cooperation.
