Money transfer turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia reaches US$3.072bn in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia grew by 34.68% year-on-year in 2010 to US$3.072 billion, the Central Bank of Russia said.

According to the bank, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan rose by 38.65% year-on-year in 2010 and made up US$2.835 billion.

Meanwhile, the volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia fell from US$229 million in 2009 to US$227 million in 2010.

Average sum of one transaction from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$585 in 2010 (US$547 in 2009), while the figure made up US$1,375 from Uzbekistan to Russia (US$1,382 in 2009).

In line with the data of the Central Bank, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan was US$836 million in the fourth quarter of 2010 against US$592 million in the same period of 2009. The volume of remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia grew from US$55 million to US$63 million.

Uzbekistan leads on the volume of transactions among the CIS states in 2010. Tajikistan and Ukraine followed Uzbekistan. Tajikistan and Ukraine received remittances for US$2.216 billion and US$1.809 billion respectively in the reporting period.

The Central Bank of Russia monitors such money transfer systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, Aziya Express, ALLYUR, Blitz, Bystraya Pochta, Zolotaya Korona and LIDER, as well as Pochta Rossii.
