“Mobile slavery” has been abolished in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “Mobile slavery” has been abolished in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry, together with the Republican Center for Telecommunications Network Management, launched a special website MNP (Mobile Number Portability) Uzbekistan.

To port a number, the user needs to submit an application at the office of the telecom operator where the subscriber plans to transfer. After a one-time payment for the service, he is provided with a new SIM card.

The user must pay for a one-time service. The amount of payment is set by the telecom operator. Until the number is transferred, the subscriber will use a temporary SIM card. If the application is approved, the operator will replace it with the number specified in the document.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, the launch of the service will increase healthy, positive competition among mobile operators operating in Uzbekistan, as well as improve the quality of the services they provide.

Currently, there are 5 mobile operators operating in Uzbekistan, Beeline, Mobiuz, Ucell, UZTELECOM and Humans.
