As of 1 January 2014, number of permanent population of Uzbekistan made up 30.489 million people. At the same time, number of mobile communication users reached 19.6 million people. So, the penetration level of mobile communication hit 64.28%.

Currently, four operators render mobile communication services in Uzbekistan. Beeline and Ucell provide services on GSM standard and Perfectum Mobile and Uzmobile – CDMA standard.

Beeline at the end of 2013 had 10.5 million subscribers, which makes up about 53.6% of market share.

Ucell had about 8.5 million subscribers at the end of 2013, which means that its market share is about 43.4% in Uzbekistan.

It is expected that number of subscribers will grow and market share of the operators will change soon as Uzbekistan is creating a national mobile communication operator on the base of UzMobile.
