Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan (MITC) hosted a meeting of the US State Department delegation headed by First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Brian McFeathers.

The delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side talked about the state of development of information technologies and communications in Uzbekistan. In particular, there was talks about ongoing work on the development of the system “Electronic Government”, introduction of information technology to ensure the openness of government agencies, for business development, e-commerce development, IT education, and others.

Also, the guests were acquainted with the state of development of the telecommunications infrastructure in Uzbekistan, ongoing work on its further development. Separately, it was told about the state and prospects of development of Uzbek-American cooperation in the IT sphere. In this context, it was said about cooperation with such American companies as Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, etc.
