Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Football Federation President Mirabror Usmanov said that the Federation will fight match-fixing in the Uzbek league.

He noted that Council of experts on fighting match-fixing was created, so the matches in the league were exciting and attracted fans to stadiums.

He said that coach of Metallurg Rustam Mirsadikov lost his license till the end of current season. He said that Mirsadikov’s activities caused concern in previous years as well.

He said that the match between Pakhtakor and Metallurg is a shame and Mirsadikov should be punished. He said that the Council of experts considered match and did not find any wrong doing by Pakhtakor, but he added that Pakhtakor will be punished by the end of the season.

UFF President said that it is necessary to introduce changes to rules of the league, so the clubs, coaches and officials could be punished. He said that clubs should be stripped points, titles and relegated to lower divisions for match-fixing.
