MIPT working group visited Jizzakh region to study the situation at production facilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 June this year, a working group led by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan (MIPT) Laziz Kudratov, consisting of responsible heads of departments, industry associations and local authorities, visited a number of production facilities in Jizzakh region.

The main goal is to familiarize locally with the activities of enterprises, to study the effectiveness of the measures taken for the timely implementation of the regional investment program, the development of export potential and the increase in industrial production.

The work program included visits to enterprises in Pakhtakor, Dustlik, Arnasay, Farish, Zaamin districts and the city of Jizzakh. In particular, the progress of the implementation of the Silverleaf company’s project to create an agrocluster, the activities of the World trading enterprise, which specializes in the production of antifreeze, air filters and spark plugs for cars, as well as enterprises producing oil and fat products Pahtakor Tex and Sangzor textile, Arnasoy gold textile and knitwear, were considered. tex, Master building building materials, Jizzax organic livestock development and processing, and the second phase of the ADM car assembly project. In addition, they got acquainted with the activities of the basalt and agricultural clusters created in the region.

Based on the results of the dialogue with local entrepreneurs, the relevant leaders were pointed out the need to strengthen targeted measures to support project initiators and exporting manufacturers. Among the main tasks are the provision of industrial zones with proper infrastructure, assistance in the modernization of enterprises, the improvement of pre-export financing mechanisms, the expansion of work on the introduction of alternative energy sources at industrial facilities, and others.

Also, the working group was presented with investment cases developed by leading consulting companies. These projects, taking into account the potential, strengths and weaknesses of the region, the availability of raw materials, infrastructure and demand for a particular product, are designed to become drivers of industrial growth in areas whose economic development lags behind. Responsible persons were instructed to work out mechanisms for attracting investments for the implementation of these projects in a short time.

Based on the results of studying the situation at industrial facilities in Jizzakh region, the relevant leaders were pointed out the need to improve the efficiency of work and expand the coverage of providing comprehensive support to entrepreneurs, which will allow in practice to ensure an accelerated growth in industrial production and export indicators, and create new jobs in the region.
