Ministry of Energy warns of the possibility of power outages

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan warns of the possibility of power outages in the country.

According to the forecasts of specialists from the Ministry of Energy, due to air pollution with fine dust particles, which have settled, including on power lines, as well as rains, which, according to the Uzhydrometeorological center, in the coming days amount to 70-90% of the monthly volume of precipitation, short-term power outages are expected in Uzbekistan. This was stated by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

This is due to the fact that dust and dirt that has settled on power lines, as well as a high level of precipitation in the form of rain, provoke local damage leading to a failure in the transmission of electricity, the Ministry of Energy noted.

In particular, short-term power outages can be observed in Tashkent, Samarkand, Kashkadarya and Fergana regions, as well as in some districts of the city of Tashkent.

“Currently, emergency teams have been formed in this regard. We ask you to report such cases to the territorial power supply enterprises,” the agency said.
