Ministry of Energy: There are no threats of transferring the gas transmission system or the sovereignty of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- There are no threats of transferring the gas transmission system or the sovereignty of Uzbekistan. This was stated by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan after the signing of the "road map" for cooperation in the gas industry with the Russian "Gazprom".

On 24 January, the Ministry of Energy and Gazprom held talks on cooperation in the gas sector. The parties discussed the technical possibilities of supplying natural gas from Russia to Uzbekistan, the Ministry notes.

According to the signed "road map", the working group formed by the parties agreed on the technical measures necessary for the implementation of gas transit through the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline passing through the territory of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

After the working group completes all the work from a technical point of view, the main conditions for the supply of natural gas will be discussed, the Ministry of Energy stressed.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan stated that the negotiations held and the signed "road map" are aimed at supplying natural gas to the domestic market of Uzbekistan in the required volumes while fully maintaining ownership of the existing gas transmission system.

The department stressed that there are no threats of transferring the gas transmission system to anyone or our sovereignty.

“All work in this direction will be carried out with full protection of the national interests of Uzbekistan, and its results will be constantly brought to the attention of the public,” the Ministry of Energy noted.
