Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced the cancellation of the selection results for the installation of solar panels in state institutions of Uzbekistan.

In March this year, Yashil Energiya conducted a selection of the best offers for almost 2 trillion soums for the installation of small solar panels in public sector facilities and government institutions.

It was supposed to install solar panels with a total capacity of 219.4 MW in all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as in several districts of Tashkent.

According to the Ministry of Energy, 18 companies engaged in the installation of solar panels took part in the selection. Virtec Power (lots worth 1.15 trillion soums) and Cifra B (729 billion soums) won tenders for the installation of solar panels.

The Ministry of Energy noted that the contracts concluded with the winning companies based on the results of the tender were terminated due to the failure of these companies to comply with the terms of the contract.

Taking into account the allocated funds, a new tender has been announced for the construction of solar photovoltaic installations with a total capacity of 2.5 MW.

The agency noted that at the next stage it is planned to attract funds from international financial institutions. Currently, negotiations are underway to finance the main part of the projects using the funds of international financial institutions.
