Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has announced that there have been no recorded instances of overstated electricity meter readings.

The Ministry noted that information circulating on social media regarding inflated electricity consumption readings is completely unfounded.

Experts from the Ministry and system enterprises investigate each report of excessive consumption and meter calculations by conducting on-site inspections. 

It should be noted that during these inspections, no cases were found where meters recorded an inflated volume of electricity consumption.

The Ministry of Energy urged social media administrators not to disseminate unverified information.
