Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 500 MW wind farm is being built by the Emirati company Masdar in Tomdi district of Navoi region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The power plant, which is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2024, will produce 1 billion 800 million kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 540 million cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved and 720 thousand tons of greenhouse gases will be prevented from being released into the atmosphere.

The total cost of this mega project is US$600 million through foreign direct investment.

It is important to note that up to 800 new jobs will be created during the construction of the station, and 30 new jobs at the time of commissioning.
