Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the SCO summit, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Huawei Tech Investment Tashkent LLC signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by First Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev and Director of Huawei Tech Investment Tashkent Chen Jiakai.

The memorandum envisages the following:

- Consider the possibility of creating a joint laboratory for testing and certification of inverters and renewable energy storage systems based on digital solutions with the supply of equipment from Huawei;

- Consider the possibility of joint use of buildings and infrastructure for the implementation of projects arising from the Memorandum, holding joint events;

- The parties envisage consideration of opportunities for further cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the framework of the development of the renewable energy sector in Uzbekistan.
