Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akbar Tashkulov, took part in the regular meeting of justice ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which was held in the format of a video conference.

The event was attended by the heads of justice ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, India, Iran, Pakistan, China, and Belarus, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO.

Akbar Tashkulov delivered a report on judicial reforms and legislation in Uzbekistan, measures to strengthen the rule of law, and prospects for cooperation within the SCO framework.

The meeting discussed innovations in the activities of justice ministries of member states and opportunities for deepening cooperation. Work plans for 2024-2026 were approved for expert groups on legal services and forensic examination.

The country for the next meeting of justice ministers of SCO member states was also determined, and the date of the event was set.

A joint statement reflecting the agreements reached on the discussed issues was issued at the end of the meeting.
