Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan holds a meeting with the Chinese delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 April, a meeting was held between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov, and a delegation from China, headed by a member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China - the Minister of Public Security, Mr. Wang Xiaohong.

This meeting took place as part of the official visit of Mr. Wang Xiaohong to Uzbekistan.

The visit was organized with the aim of implementing the proposals of the President of Uzbekistan to establish close cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the countries of Central Asia and China, expressed during the first summit in the “Central Asia – China” format, which took place on 19 May 2023 in Xi’an, China.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that in recent years the relationship between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Security of China has strengthened significantly. Systemic cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, extremism, transnational crime and ensuring public safety has moved to a new level. The exchange of information and mutual experience between ministries has also become more intense, as well as staff training and bilateral visits.

During the event, the parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism, extremism and transnational organized crime, as well as the fight against drug trafficking. The organization of special training courses for law enforcement officers in the field of combating cybercrime and digital forensics was discussed, as well as the establishment of mutual cooperation between the Research Institute of Criminology under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and four research centers of the Ministry of Public Security of China.

As a result of the meeting, a Program of Mutual Cooperation between the two ministries for 2024-2025 was signed.

During the meeting, promising tasks were identified for the development of mutual cooperation in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
