Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov visited the headquarters of Huawei in Shenjen, China, and also got acquainted with the activities of the company’s plant for the production of inverters and batteries for solar power plants.

On 16 February 2023, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, with a delegation of representatives of the Ministry of Energy, regional khokimiyats, subordinate organizations and industry enterprises, visited the headquarters of Huawei in Shenjen to get acquainted with innovative solutions for the development of the energy sector, as well as to exchange experience and study successful examples of projects in the field of renewable energy.

During the visit, a tour of the Huawei demonstration center was organized for the delegation, as well as the production facilities of the Huawei Digital Power division for the production of inverters and batteries for solar power plants for various purposes.

“Huawei already has experience in implementing and participating in projects to introduce photovoltaic technology and energy storage for large industrial power plants, commercial and industrial sectors, as well as domestic solar power plants in the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with partners. Today we have a chance to visually present the experience of Huawei Digital Power for the representatives of the delegation and discuss even more opportunities for an early transition to green energy, given the firm policy of the country’s leadership to increase the use of renewable energy sources,” said Chen Jiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.

As part of getting acquainted with the company’s global experience in the implementation of digital projects in the energy sector, the Minister of Energy held a meeting with the President of the Huawei Global Energy Business Unit, Mr. Sun Fuyu, where they discussed cooperation on increasing the integration of digital and energy technologies in the Republic of Uzbekistan; expanding opportunities for ecosystem participants and entrepreneurs in the production, implementation and development of "green" energy; development of the sphere of civil energy and electrification of large enterprises due to solar energy; accelerating the process of achieving carbon neutrality in Uzbekistan.

Huawei Digital Power focuses on the development of digital energy. In 2021, customers generated 482.9 billion kWh of green energy based on Huawei Digital Power solutions, saving 14.2 billion kWh of electricity and reducing CO2 emissions by 230 million tons, equivalent to planting 320 million trees. In September 2022, Huawei in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Energy entered into a memorandum of understanding and also held a meeting to establish long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
